No, you have to 'format data' which is a different from what you have done, it essentially factory resets your phone.

Did you format the data in twrp the first time you unlocked bootloader? And did you install fcrypt after flashing rom?

Try clean flashing the rom with all the instructions

You don't need to root, you need an unlocked bootloader so that you can install twrp recovery which will allow you to flash the rom

You can download the camera module provided in candy rom thread and flash it through magisk, should give you the memeui camera.
