As a Pixel XL user with Verizon UDP, keeping tethering is now a hassle for some of us. Tethering worked great with workarounds until the new patches started coming out. Between losing root when taking new updates and not being able to use a non-root tethering app; I'm at the point of giving up...

While it is downloading, you can long press the notification icon of the download and go to "app info" and force stop that app. For me on 4.4.4 it is the MotorolaOTA. Not sure what it is on Lollipop.

Is the phone connected both media and phone through Bluetooth? You can check in the Bluetooth settings. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Could it be an app? Have you tried it just with everything default for a day or two? Not adding any apps or accounts except gmail? You could try starting there. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
