I tried a second time and now I have root. Last time I buy a phone from Verizon though.

I have followed all the instructions. I now have an unlocked bootloader but I cannot get the phone to root. Trwp is installed and I can boot to it in recovery mode. Downloaded an app to check for root and it says root installation improper or something to that effect.
