Glad you managed to sort it out. Miui 12 is out on eu.xiaomi now, you may want to switch to that: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/20-4-30-first-miui-12.55390/ Just follow the same method to get into twrp by flashing it in fastboot then installing the eu.xiaomi rom as you would any new rom...

So I take it you have unlocked your bootloader and have twrp installed? If so if you format the data using twrp and then flash the rom and reboot it should boot up. If not then I do not know what to suggest. My device after flashing the rom booted fine.

Can you elaborate a bit? After rebooting to Miui 12 rom for me if I go back to recovery mode it's the default 3.0 one in chinese which I can easily replace with twrp if I flash it again by fastboot and then commanding it to launch to recovery.

EEA version should be out soon. It's cool that Global have it, I bought the device in the store in London and thought it was the Global variant but is EU so gotta wait too.

Flashed absolutely fine and the device is working now too without any problems. Thanks.
