The voice call speaker, power button and USB have all stopped working on mine. I have to press the back of the phone just above the SIM to get the power button to work. Look at replacing the MicroUSB/earpiece/power button assembly.

May be a bit late now but 2degrees admitted to a problem with their SIM cards that meant some phones wouldn't connect to the network properly. Many Motorola's were affected by this including Telecom NZ's Milestone and Defy

Is it just my Defy or is it a common problem for the touch screen to not respond well to touches when charging?

I have a problem with my phone rebooting on 7.06 when watching videos, doesn't matter if it's online or through the YouTube app but it will just randomly do this and it didn't have any problems like this in 7.04 I have also tried some stress tests and the phone is fine and doesn't reboot doing...

I put it up to 1350Mhz and voltage on the maximum of 5 and so far it's been really smooth without restarting. I'm not too worried about heat as my old Motorola Defy would get to about 60 degrees Celsius and I just played a couple of games and my phone is sitting around 30-40 degrees Celsius...
