Post Bootloop no matter what I flash

This happened to me as well I recently bought a used 5x on eBay, the H790 model. It was cheap. Everything was fine until I ran through the updates., and was downloading apps from the Play store. Since then, the phone would unpredictably reboot no matter what ROM was installed. The logcat...

Post Holy bad battery life Batman!

I am of a differing opinion.. I think these android devices have terrible battery life. That being said, invest in a few of the cheap Hong Kong 1800mAH batteries on ebay. I had a good experience ordering from "farmerseller". Curiously, I ordered 1500mAH batteries but received 1800 mAH...

Post Holy bad battery life Batman!

Lithium-ion batteries have a big drop off at the start of the discharge profile. They will then maintain a fairly steady state between about 80% - 40%. A 3% change, therefore, from 100 to 97 is not equivalent to a 3% change from 80% to 77%.

    Post [Q] Motorola defy bricked

Make sure you use a compatible boot/devtree loader. Try the 2.1, the 2.51, and the Tmobile 3.4.2-107 available elsewhere on this board. It's nearly impossible to brick the Defy.

Thread Restoring to Official US T-Mobile OTA Update 34.4.9

Like many on here, I was on a custom ROM and had no backup of the stock T-Mobile ROM. Additionally, the OTA does not like the fact that you have flashed a custom 2.1 or 2.51 .SBF boot/devtree file. I managed to successfully restore back to the official T-Mobile froyo. The main difficulty was...

    Post [Q] In pocket detection??

in-pocket detection I'm on the Finnish deblur, and the other day pulled the phone out of my pocket to find the camera turned on and the LED turned on (draining my battery!) I can say it does not work on the Finland deblur ROM. I was never on the stock ROM long enough to test it to see if it...

See other thread. :) (short answer: no.)

    Post GPS-Information in Photos wrong

I have tried many Froyo ROMs. The only camera that processed it correctly was in the Eclair ROMs. Interestingly enough... the "video camera" records the GPS data correctly. Just not the still camera.

    Post GPS-Information in Photos wrong

Yes, it's a bug I have observed. It seems to be limited to the preliminary Froyo releases out there in the wild right now. The BlurCamera.apk does not process the latitude correctly. While it is not free, try the "Vignette" camera app available in the market. It solved the problem for me. I...

Post [Q]nand backup on froyo 2.2 build 3.2.3-3

How does the bootloader know? :) Does it set a bit somewhere in non-volatile RAM that the user can't access? Or is it reading from the root folder somewhere? (ie., if you format the root folder, the bootloader can be tricked?)

Post [Q] Moto Defy (Froyo) GPS / EXIF (auto location tags in photos)

Update I'm curious to know the interplay between gps.conf and gpsconfig.xml I tinkered with both, and now I have a faster lock on GPS satellites. However, the BlurCamera.apk app still inverts the latitude to a negative number in the EXIF data it writes. Anyone have any ideas?

Thread [Q] Moto Defy (Froyo) GPS / EXIF (auto location tags in photos)

I have looked around the threads, and have not found a similar posting. Please no flames if this is a dupe! :) I am having a bizarre conundrum on Froyo with the Moto Defy and the stock camera app. I have not used the phone with 2.1 and so do not know if this is an issue on 2.1 THE ISSUE...
