Would that mean that any device with a higher than u1 bootloader will not work with custom roms? That doesn't sound right to me.. Perhaps I haven't asked my question well enough, so first, I'd like to figure out why custom non-samsung based roms all fail on boot.

Yes, the security on the boot-loader. Any since all official firmware check, that's not an option. But as long as I'm able to run a custom rom, I should be good, I think.

That's true for generations s8 and s9, but both s10/note10 and apparently s20 have the antennas

$20 in for s8 unlocked bootloader. I have an S8 live demo and looks like i won't be able to flash stock firmware and use it as a tablet unless the bootloader is unlocked

Hey. Could you please point me in the right direction for the factory binary? I'm trying to get the snapdragon demo unit 'functional'. By that I just mean running the stock ROM, I have no expectation of calls or messages, so that wouldn't be a problem in my case.

Yes, you're right. I did that and I can confirm it almost completely works. Plus I have twarp installed and rooted the device I don't expect the call function to ever work, but I would like to use the fingerprint scanner. Does yours work on the demo live model with the g935F software? I saw...
