im having the exact same issues, reinstalled windows, now i cant get my tab to connect ... tried different ports I finally got it to show up as an MTP device but computer doesnt like that one bit.

Something like that should work I was thinking about doing the same thing but didn't know where to find the coper stuff in store. I have a new epic 4g touch now and have been thinking about trying again soon, maybe I will look into it.

I just left it all as is, loving it still ... it would be capable of sending data through the touchstone i think if only the usb output was 1k but its still awesome ... have one in my tuck that holds onto it nice and one in my room.

this actually has me curious i might try it on an old battery/phone ... bc if you can then you would just be able to modify your battery pretty much.

I wouldnt think so. The input to where I soldered to is the same thing as plugging in a USB cable, I think it goes through some conversions b4 making its way all the way to the bat terminal. I guess you would have to check the voltages and current with a multimeter, but I would think they are...

dont see why not, this was a quick trip to radio shack type of thing =0P The touchstone wont work off of my laptop USB ... you have to use the ac adapter, but it works perfect in my truck hooked up to my zune FM modulator's usb port ... I'm growing more and more fond of it ... its nice to pick...

Good luck! The glass is a bit touch to separate from the outside ... easiest way was to find a place at the glass edge to slip your nail into and patiently work your way around pulling and pushing ... and then make sure you have a nice sharp tip for your soldering iron because it is a VERY tight...
