I wonder if the case covers the sensor.. because if I let the screen go off with the case open, then the screen stays on correctly..

Similar issues here, when closing the case the screen goes off.. If I power it on then it stays on for the 2 min duration where the "auto screen off" is set. I'd expect that to be overridden by the "always display information" setting. And it seems to work perfectly well without the case...
