I'm using this for WhatsApp, but when it does a backup the app will crash and I have to go into alltrans and turn off translation, let it backup and then turn translation back on. Any way to fix this? Also I think it's related, I no longer get WhatsApp notification.

I think when I installed twrp and a mod to stock it turned it back off. I reinstalled a stock image and started over and got it working. Thanks for the help.

You need to use Odin to put it back on. I would look up some vids to try and get into "download mode" or "Odin mode" and try again. Most bricks are soft bricks that need flashing. You should be able to get back into Download mode if you get the timing right for the boot loop.

I found "Disable Absolute Volume" and tried it. Still when the phone turns back on the pop up is there the moment I turn up the volume.

I don't really wan't a custom rom, but do have Magisk and TWRP. It's the last thing I don't like about this phone (just came from the Pixel 2 XL).

You should only have to hold power and Vol - when it resets you should then try to get into download mode with Vol + , Bixby then the USB and try again with all the slots populated in Odin. The recovery mode should do nothing at this point do to the OS being messed up.
