Super slow 4g on Verizon Yeah I just switched from my S7 yesterday, went from 40-50mbps all over my house with the S7, to 2-3mbps with the Note 8. I got an update just now too, didn't fix it. The ping is also terrible and the connection drops. It's pretty much worthless without Wi-Fi.

It's very much throttled unfortunately. In the fine print it says your internet speed will be de-prioritized after 22GB (meaning you'll be queued after other non-unlimited users), and the hotspot will only run on 3G which is basically worthless compared to 4G or WiFi. If you are gonna switch...

It may be too late, but converting the app to a system app by moving it to /system/app and then installing it from there fixed the problem for me. Marshmallow PureNexus 6.0.1

Does the kernel affect they way the phone uses WiFi & 4G, or is it just the ROM? I'm wondering if it's the latest rom update, or the latest ElementalX custom kernel that's causing the dropouts and issues...
