Some charger could, but be careful. When your Nook Color is on low battery (lower than 15% of battery), it will stuck at "Battery too low to power on" because that cable charges but slower than the original Nook cable. I have the same problem. I'm running Mirage CyanogenMod 7.2 (custom rom), the July 2013 build. On that night, I was on 27% of battery, then my Nook Color suddenly turned off without showing message about low battery.
