Post [Guide] How to systemlessly root your Pixel XL on Android 8.0 (SuperSU)

Thanks. I got the September OTA but am nervous to accept it. My main fear is that I can not root and have to roll back to the August update. I wish I could just accept the OTA and keep root, build prop edits and SU Hide.

Post [Guide] How to systemlessly root your Pixel XL on Android 8.0 (SuperSU)

I have a Verizon Pixel with an unlocked bootloader. I was on an older build rooted, I think the security update was March or so, what I did was enrolled in the beta and immediately got the Oreo update, I was surprised it went through since I was rooted and all the other OTA's failed. I then...

Post OTA Update, how to unroot and accept OTA without Side loading

Thanks, I was hoping for an eaiser way, I thought I read somewhere you can unroot via the super user app but the last time I tried it did not work, wasn't sure if I did it wrong. If I am on the Jan patch, can I side load the March patch or do I have to do Feb first?

Thread OTA Update, how to unroot and accept OTA without Side loading

Does anyone have an easy method to unroot so I can accept the OTA on my phone without having to side load the OTA with my computer? Can I completely unroot with the Superuser app, change my build prop back to stock and accept the OTA. I have the boot to root method, no TWRP and modified my build...

Post How do you get the mic icon in the Google search "pill"?

Pretty sure it is a widget on Action Launcher. The stock launcher would have the weather on the right, not just the date.

Post Soft/Hard brick when chainfire rooting

I unlocked my bootloader and got a bootloop when I tried to fastboot to root. Would not recognize the device either. I redownloaded SU 3 as suggested in the third post and it worked. Good Luck. I used the fastboot to root method and did not install TWRP...

Post Native Hotspot Verizon workaround no longer works on Dec 5th update NMF260

I wish I would have unlocked my bootloader before updating, should have waited to update. Hopefully there will be a solution in the future.

Post Safe To Upgrade VZW Pixel XL To 7.1.1?

I lost the ability to use the native Hotspot with my unlimited data plan on Verizon. It appears the update closed the workaround where you could use network refresher and bypass the provisioning check.

Thread Native Hotspot Verizon workaround no longer works on Dec 5th update NMF260

Updated to the Dec 5th security patch on Verizon and using signal refresher and then turning on the Hotspot no longer works, looks like Verizon patched it. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Now I am wishing I rooted. Do not take the update if you are on Verizon with unlimited data and plan...

Post Native hotspot with Verizon unlimited data working?

Awesome jphillips, you are the man! Can confirm option 1 works on a Verizon Pixel with UDP.

Post Native hotspot with Verizon unlimited data working?

That's beat, it's looking like we will need root or at the very least change the build.prop with an unlocked bootloader. I just got the Verizon version, camera and speed is awesome but not sure I can give up my 6P with the tethering.

Post Native hotspot with Verizon unlimited data working?

Has anyone tried to tether on a Verizon UDP with a pixel purchased through the Google Store?

This is not looking good, I wonder if the model from Google will work.

Post Native hotspot with Verizon unlimited data working?

I can confirm my 6P from Google does not perform the check on Verizon and native tethering works on my UDP. I should have my Pixel tomorrow so I will check and see what works, if I can't get Foxfi or the native tether to work it will be for sale or sent back shortly.
