Yes, I would predict that to happen soon, as well. Anyways, thank you for this valuable information.

Have the bricked users tried ticking “Re-partition” and “NAND Erase” in Odin’s options (once they’ve supplied appropriate firmware, of course)? Is there any way I can get in contact with them? Such as through a Telegram group, for example.

What do you mean by “it will flash the correct firmware”? How could Download Mode do that?

    1) Oh, this seems quite troubling. I’ll try to communicate this through both of my guides by tomorrow. 2) And by “bricking”, a user can’t even access Download Mode? 3) Also, if a user is on a different model number than the original model number they were on, they will brick, correct, if they...

So disabling "preconfig" would prevent that from happening and keep unlocked firmware, unlocked? If so, I'll need someone else to test this, since I don't have any SIM cards for different carriers.

Could you elaborate on what disabling "preconfig" would do? Also, the last time I remembered, flashing the full unlocked CSC file (in additon to flashing the rest of the unlocked firmware) changes your CSC to "XAA", which would be changed to your desired carrier's CSC once an appropriate SIM...

The "UMS" field in Odin is for U.S. carrier firmware that have a "USERDATA" file. Firmware from outside the U.S. don't (normally) have this file.

The reason "NAND Erase" wasn't recommended back then is because partition files (.pit) weren't embedded into the "CSC" files, meaning if you were only to select the "NAND Erase" and "Re-Partition" option and not provide a .pit file, then your phone would brick due to a "NAND Erase" occurring...

I strongly believe that something is wrong with your NAND, therefore I recommend what I listed above (after you read this whole entire post). In the end if it doesn't solve your problems that you've mentioned, nothing bad would happen. The reason you had to use Prince Comsy's Odin to flash back...

With standard Odin (not Prince Comsy's since you're now going to reflash the same firmware), place all of your Canadian firmware files in their appropriate slots and then go into the "Options" tab and make sure that the "Auto Reboot", "NAND Erase", "Re-Partition", and "F. Reset Time" are ticked...

Can you recall if these problems occurred when you were connected to 4g or when you were connected to Wifi? I have a feeling these issues occur since your phone is SM-G955W, yet you tried flashing a U.S. unlocked firmware. I can only verify compatibility with U.S. SM-G955U's.

Yes, you use standard Odin. What error appears under Odin's log that prevents you from flashing it?

The guide has been updated to support users who are on Bootloader v2, in addition to users who are on Bootloader v1! Enjoy. P.S. Please let me know if there are any issues, since I want to make sure everyone can follow the guide easily.

The factory binary works on both unlocked firmware and phones, in addition to standard carrier firmware and phones.
