Post [Toolkit] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v2.1.4 [Updated 01/16/16]: Nexus 7 (2013) Thread

Nexus 7 2013 old and new Just used NRT to go through the upgrading and rooting process on both devices. Both were previously rooted and new one on MMB29V, but the old would not flash the OTA with FlashFire. Used the toolkit on the old one and it worked great through the whole process. TWRP...

My prayer to the Gods was answered I got notified of the OTA being downloaded on my Nexus 7 2013. I Ran Flashfire with all defaults and now have MMB29Q on the tablet with root. I'll try it on the new version of the tablet tonight.

Strange as it seems, my newer Nexus 7 (2013) - single volume button would not root with NRT. Had to install the Multirom version TWRP. That did work.

I have an issue also with "fastboot getvar unlocked". I have tried different cables and USB ports with no luck. Mostly the tablet, Nexus 7 (2013) reboots but has locked once and had to power down and restart. I also have NRT v2.1.1 unresponsive after the fails and have to kill with Task...

Is this with or without the OTA fix. On lollipop I had large problems with wifi connecting. With MM it is working great. I don't want to take the OTA fix if it will be screwed up again. Thanks,

Rooting If you google "Nexus Root Toolkit" and install it by Wugfresh you can follow simple instructions to rooting. It even steps you through getting and installing the required drivers. You won't know what it is doing or why but it does get the job done. There is a manual way step by step...

Got the OTA yesterday & I haven't been able to make MTP default for USB. Probably go to stock, unroot and take OTA over the weekend.

Flashed Factory Image I used Wug's Toolkit to flash the Factory Image and re-root. Did not wipe data and all is working. I haven't noticed any differences.

Post Enable SD write on stock rom?

If there is a write problem go to the root level of the External SD and enable write premissions. Can be done with most file managers. Root not necessary. This is apparently a default thing. If it were windows we would blame Bill Gates.

    Thread [Q] WIFI not reconnecting

Since Lollipop my wifi will not reconnect when I go to a previous location. I am now Stock, Rooted and Unlocked on 5.1. I have tried forgetting and re-establishing and that does not hold. Has anyone else experienced this and did they find a fix? Thanks,
