Thanks, So it was like I imagined. I did what you wrote here and it worked. It was with some issues because I don't understand everything but starting to get the hang of it :laugh: After I installed TWRP and did a reboot it asked for my pattern to confirm but the pattern was not responding...- MrMarcie

Add TWRP on custom ROM I already installed LineageOS 16 and Gapps on my Redmi 3 s. I had some issues with it but finally I made it. But now there are updates for Lineage and I can download them directly on my phone but not install them because recovery is missing apparently. Can I download...- MrMarcie

I had the same last week on my phone. This helped me: in TWRP go to advanced > terminal, then create /cache/recovery with mkdir /cache/recovery After that I could install everything- MrMarcie
