Hi, what caused the message was a ROM i flashed and as a result both baseband/imei are unknown/null! my phone is a GT-I9515. Thanks for all the info and help provided; i will try it for sure.

This worked for me after rebooting twice and setting my extSdcard as default write disk. Using Tablet PC T960S Mediatek octa-core 2.0ghz Android 5.1

At this point it's a baseband issue, furthermore you need to flash a properly working NVRAM into your phone. do you have a working backup?
