Yeah, im not so much concerned with the halo as i am with the tactile feel, so i hate it if the edge of the screen protector doesnt go far past the physical home button or as in the case of the bearmotion, the oleophobic crap coating (which smudges like crazy). I may just go without a screen...

Actually, Ive found that it does not extend past the camera lens, it makes the camera lens functionally flush with the back. Im a little disappointed in this and sort of wish it was "slightly" thicker. If it was, i think i would end up going caseless. I may end up doing what the OP described...

I did this except for the data wipe, and can't seem to shake the scrolling lag, in essentially every app I use. Seems like it is something to do with a framerate issue, or maybe a rogue app. Whats the prescription for finding a rogue app? Better battery stats, searching for PWL?

Yeah, I tried to remove all my widgets on the screen (at least the ones I rarely use, like google keep or ask.do), and it hasnt helped all that much. Its pretty strange to me, since my wife's unrooted, stock, updated S3 runs smooth as silk. I think that it is probably something software...

I would like to update to 4.1.2, originally i had rooted stock "everything" including the recovery. I tried to apply the update and it failed, now the phone is a little screwy, it isnt updating to 4.1.2, (it is stuck at 4.1.1) and it doesnt show up on my list of devices in the play store...
