Do folks still have love for this phone? Any key issues people should be aware of? I heard of a bug causing the battery to drain introduced in an update. Also wanted to know if screen always on is an issue with burn in. Please share any user experience issues you'd consider as a deal breaker.

Option: Turn off throttling Only thing I've found for stock is the option to turn off throttling all together. I gave this a try and it does look to work for the most part. I'm able to consistently get Antutu speeds in the 58K range, but the temps are a bit scary. Even with the thermal tape...

Have pogo, want to know if it's possible to throttle stock. Pogo doesn't like root, and the root with magisk isn't something I really want to do. Think pogo may eventually figure a way to detect it too.

Not sure why you don't like my suggestion, it's pretty much the same as using a 1mm thick pad. Except you have .5 on the SoC and .5 on the chassis. Yes, I did flatten it some to avoid loss of contact.

Yup, it's like a double sided foam tape. I used .5mm and doubled it up. I attached one to the chassis and one to the chip itself. Mike

Let us know how it works. BTW, I agree that it's better to use a newer pad. the pads loose their moisture over time and effectiveness. At least I've had that experience with thermal paste.
