Thread FCC PROMOTES WIRELESS INVESTMENT AND DEPLOYMENT IN THE 800 MHz SMR BAND

This pdf was emailed to me this morning. This is a huge step for you guys, as this was a thorn on Sprint's side for more than 6 years. http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2012/db0524/DOC-314273A1.pdf Edit: FierceWireless just posted more to this story, with Sprint...

    Post EVO LTE supports SVDO!

SVDO were widely tested for the last 2 years with both CDMA carriers and Qualcomm, before it was official. The problem is not only is the parts expensive per unit, earlier chips were a ***** to battery life, something that Qualcomm later improved. The original plan was to implement it once the...

Post How to Watch Sprint's Strategy/Network Meeting LIVE

1X Advanced is still a go, and EVDO Advanced is still the option. It's just very strange both haven't been brought up at all, though it's not over yet.

Post network vision multimode aka evdo rev b from sprint failed grr

To make sure you know what you're talking about and not look foolish, what you've meant by your quote was if Sprint doesn't upgrade from A to B, you're done? DO-Advanced is the next step after Rev. B, and they are upgrading both networks. Anyway you've put it, Rev. A ancient history.

Sprint reps told you this? Unless last minute changes were made, Sprint going Advanced on both sides. It makes a lot of sense, as both are the next evolution of CDMA.

Sprint is upgrading their EVDO to EVDO-Advanced. CDMA 1X-Advanced for Voice, EVDO-Advanced for Data. The max speeds for DO-Advanced is just Phase 1, as Qualcomm are working on the next phase right now (HSPA, HSPA+, HSPA++) It's not HSPA+, but better than what they are offering now.

Post Sprint Upgrading 3G Network!! And EVO 3D will be compatible!!

I'm surprised you didn't know this, but Rev. B supports Voice and Data at the same time. Why you think CDMA subscribers was begging for that switch from the moment it was finalized? SVDO wasn't an option back then.

Post Sprint Playbook shows big changes coming to Premier program, return policy

No it won't. LTE and LTE alone will be the reason Sprint moves to tiered data. I don't blame Sprint for these changes either. They've provided the best perks for years, and how did that help them with their bottom line? 15 straight quarters without a gain, and you guys are pissed? Apple...

Post Sprint Upgrading 3G Network!! And EVO 3D will be compatible!!

Rumors doesn't make it official, you will end up heartbroken that way. Come October 7th, we'll see if the rumors will be reality. It's no HSPA+ and DO-Advanced, but it's better than Rev A and another option for simultaneous voice and data.

Sprint still owes 53% of Clear, but they've never had full control of that company. They are now trying to buy Clearwire and doing whatever it takes to make it happen.Another thing, 1X-Advanced is not the same thing as SVDO. It needs to be included in the chip, which isn't the case for the EVO...

Post network vision multimode aka evdo rev b from sprint failed grr

So many incorrect info in this thread, it's not even funny. Multimode aka EVDO Rev. B? Come again? Multimodal is based on the numerous frequencies working together as one, not the data connection. 1X-Advanced/Rev.A/B, is based on the chip. Nothing in that video stated Sprint switching to...

Post Clearwire announces plans for "true 4G" LTE Advanced network

If people can't tell the difference between WiMax limit of 5MHz, to Clear using 20MHz towards their LTE, then this conversation is dead in the water. It's no comparison when it comes to speeds, and I was already a witness to their real life speeds. Indoor signal should be a little bit better...

Post Clearwire announces plans for "true 4G" LTE Advanced network

Clearwire is heading towards TD-LTE, later upgrading to LTE-Advanced. They are not immediately going towards the latter. Clearwire also didn't chose to use Sprint's Network Vision, short reason being negotiations tactic. Smart move though without Sprint's funding, they are not deploying this...

Post Iphone 5 going to sprint

Doesn't matter if find the device to be overrated or a gem, it will outsell any Android device in their lineup, while bringing an island of defectors with it. It's a business decision that has more pros than cons right now. Sprint can't afford to be the only major U.S. carrier without it, and...

Post Sprint to confirm Move from Wimax to LTE

The channels Clear used for the testing, was approved by the FCC in May. It was real life numbers being shown in the video, but that means nothing once the network is officially active with subscribers. The speeds I've witnessed in person were the fastest speeds out of the carriers, but it...
