Thread Enable USB Debugging (Install via USB) on Redmi phones without signing to Mi Account?

I am reposting this question here because this issue doesn't seem to be single device specific but applies to all (Xiaomi) devices, especially recent ones. ---- I am trying to debug an android app using my Redmi S2 phone (android 8.1) but there is a problem. Even though I can enable USB...

Post Bricked Redmi S2 doesn't unbrick even with the EDL method

It seems almost practically impossible that a smart-phone gets "suddenly bricked", especially for a quality brand like Redmi. I've seen my fair share of phone usage and even rooted a few phones. In my experience (and reading on Mi forums), an attempt at rooting or unlocking of bootloader is...

Thread Enable USB Debugging (Install via USB) on Redmi S2 without signing into Mi Account?

I am trying to debug an android app using my Redmi S2 phone (android 8.1) but there is a problem. Even though I can enable USB Debugging in developer options, I am unable to enable "Install via USB" checkbox. It asks for a Xiaomi account which I don't have (and don't want to open). As per this...

Post Disable system apps without root (even those with disabled Disable button)

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. Even on Marshmallow, the hide and unblock commands don't work, so this is probably the only way to get rid of bloatware. But the uninstall command is a bit dangerous since the changes are permanent, is there a way to get the app back once uninstalled?

Thread Is there a way to grant myself MANAGE_USERS permission while inside the adb shell?

The thing is that I'm fed up of some stock adware apps on my Micromax phone and want to disable them for good. So, as per this Android SE answer, I used adb shell to disable the app, but I'm getting the following error: [email protected]:/ $ pm hide com.micromax.trendingapps Error...

Post What is the general process to follow when your device isn't listed?

Can you please explain the rooting process for this phone? I've been unable to even root yet. However, for changing the UI, you don't need rooting. You can install any of the Launcher apps from play store such as Nova Launcher or the Google Now Launcher.

Any news about this? Since its almost one year since I asked this question, just wanted to know whether you managed to root the micromax evok phone and install a custom ROM or not?

Thread How do I repartition an external sdcard on android tablet that supports only MTP?

I have a rooted 8" KitKat tablet on which I want to install debian on a chroot using linux deploy. According to the guide, one of the first steps is to re-partition the external sdcard into two parts: one 512mb FAT32 partition, and another ext2 partition. Is there a way to re-partition my 32gb...

Thread What is the general process to follow when your device isn't listed?

I've already posted about my phone on forum requests thread, but I don't think it could result in anything considering that its not a very popular model (Micromax Evok Power - Q4260). Its a MediaTEK SoC device (MT6737) with 2GB RAM and Crotex-A53 processor. There are no reliable updates by the...

Post [tut][update] How to Unbrick and revive a totally lifeless Xiaomi Mi-Pad

Since you seemed to have tried everything, the only thing I could have told you was to try a different miflash version. But since you have tried that too, I couldn't really think about anything in your situation, except: 1. Check the short-circuiting on sdcard again, the preciseness it needs to...

Thread [ProTip: MiPad-1] Get rid of Whetstone bloatware and improve performance upto 5X

This post is aimed at beginners running MIUI 7.5.1.0+ on thier MiPad-1. Even rooted users might find this helpful if they haven't done this tweak yet. Post [tut][update] How to Unbrick and revive a totally lifeless Xiaomi Mi-Pad

Did you ever try to re-partition the MiPad any time? If that happens or you tried to flash a wrong version of the ROM, there is the danger of MiPad mother-board getting damaged. Better take it to your nearest Xiaomi service center or send it to China.

Post [tut][update] How to Unbrick and revive a totally lifeless Xiaomi Mi-Pad

Try all the "soft-unbrick" methods first before trying this out Make sure you try the usual "soft-unbrick" methods first (like recharging it overnight and various power button combinations(power+up, power+dn, etc)). This method has to be the last resort. Though there isn't anything specific...
