I could be wrong but I think that it should be safe to try. Either the root works, or it doesn't and leaves your phone untouched. Only thing I'd worry about is the chance of any viruses the program can come with. EDIT: Just tried it, it failed.

So yesterday I got 16 hours and about 4 hours of SoT. Coming from an HTC One M7, this is actually performing better despite the smaller battery. And this is without power saving on and playing a couple games throughout the day. Not bad.

Which CPU? Doesn't the AT&T version have a Snapdragon 801? I thought dealing with that CPU is easier than dealing with the Exynos.

There might actually be hundreds of threads on XDA relating to the build.prop and battery tweaks. Try searching for them. I'd say a lot of them won't have as big of an effect. The only one I use is is the where you set the wifi to scan every 3 minutes instead of every 15 seconds.

It might be because of the zip file, try checking the md5 checksum to make sure it downloaded properly. Or try flashing another rom so see if that one installs. I've had similar issues with bad downloads before.

Oh awkward I posted on the wrong thread.

Use a can of compressed air and blow it through the speakers grills. Sometimes lots of dust builds up on the speakers and the volume gets lower overtime. I cleared out my speakers a while ago and I was amazed at how much louder it became.
