Just FYI: After only about 2 months of enjoying Medianet on my international I9300, I got the dreaded "Did you know a data plan is required for your smartphone" text from AT&T.

The pricing difference is substantial. Straight talk was $48.xx per month (tax included), at&t $79.xx with the 450 minute package. But the frequent data outages on straight talk simply made it a non starter for me.

I would advise you not to do this. I just went back to medianet after a two month stint with straight talk. 2 things i noticed: 1) They do throttle you when you get up over 2gb. I was consistently recording 128k download speeds right before i bailed. And no, contrary to what you may read...

I can also vouch for straight talk on the I9300. I switched a couple weeks ago and the service has been great, have gotten data speed as high as 7mb in some areas. I deleted proxy but left in the mms apn settings.

First, Thanks Task, this is awesome! 2nd, I found what might be a bug or a problem with my router (WNDR3300): If the phone has been asleep, it doesn't reconnect to wifi upon waking. However, turning off wifi and then turning it back on triggers it to reconnect. Has anyone else had this issue?

I think that depends on the carrier. I used my I777 in Costa Rica on the Kolbi ICE network and got 3G. I just needed to enter the APN manually. (kolbi3g)
