Chinese and global have same tool and same chip and people have succeeded to unbrick chinese ones with this tool. But generally the issue is the usb port/computer/usb cable. You dont have to open your phone.. Just continue to try other computers..but before everything i would suggest you to...

I am not sure about your idea of selling 5s more.but i do remember when 5g cn rom update came with better battery we asked developer for the same in global and the developer mentioned that if you needed better battery the performance will decrease. Probably that was implemented in the system...
