Solution ended up being to flash the stock kernel, let the os encrypt, tell it to decrypt, then re-flash/re-root - all is well again.

are you first doing an adb remount before trying to push while the phone is awake?

The file that was provided has a capital C in it. Linux cares about capital and lowercase letters. try again using Camera.apk If you are doing this while the phone is booted up you need to run a adb remount before pushing Also because you are just running adb push Camera.apk ..... this means...
