what wifi issues does this fix? my seems to have really poor range.

I've just got my one x home and after setting the device up, went straight for the software update. its been at it for an hour now, and is just hanging on the install screen (green sync symbol with the arrow in the middle). should it take this long? my old DHD never took this long to install...

deleting my HTC sense account appears to have fixed things. as i didnt use any of the sense cloud features it doesnt affect me too much. android system is now down to a mere 6% of battery usage compared to 50% when the cpu was running at 100%. now with any luck i can see what affect this...

personally i dont see that as an excuse. HTC have expanded rapidly since android came along but thats no reason to get fast and loose with quality control. besides, you would expect that their regression testing is automated to keep cost down, and as the core functionality most likely hasn't...

well it seems i spoke too soon. i've just woken up to find that the battery died overnight. so sometime in the last 9 hours i've lost 80% battery whilst it has been on standby. prateekgujral, i currently have usb debugging turned ON due to the /init problem. are you suggesting that i turn it off?

well its been nearly 4 hours unplugged and i'm down to around 80% with around 30m of calls made and a dozen texts. not fantastic, but much better then before.

Thanks for that. I dont really use any of the sense features myself so i've now disabled sense syncing completely and will see how it goes (once its fully charged again!). will keep this thread updated with any news from my end in any case.
