Samsung's S Beam uses wifi direct to make a connection as opposed to the bluetooth connection made with Android Beam. Wifi Direct can send a hell of a lot more data at a faster rate than bluetooth. U can download the app "wifi direct" from the app store and send photos, movies, etc.
