Yeah I also learned this the hard way. I tried Installing TWRP on my S8 as well and didn't know I couldn't do it even though it was rooted with what you just mentioned. But it's a decent root I think personally.

Help I successfully rooted my note 8 and love it, but when I turn my phone off it just goes right back to the lock screen and won't turn off. Is that normal? If not what should I do? Thank you!
