I have the same problem since last Thursday... but in my case, it only happens when the SMS is sent from a foreign Phone number; if somebody from my country sends me a SMS it works fine (and, of course, I am able to send SMSs to my country and foreign countries without any problem).

And do you have problems with the notifications? How do you solved them, once you have installed GAPPS?
