I dont have any rom installed currently running stock android 6.0.1 . To install this nougat rom will i first have to update my stock to nougat or it is not required?

Guys do all these roms work on htc desire 816g? I just want to update lollipop and for some reason my phone isn't getting the lollipop update so I tried finding the link to update it manually but no download files. can any of you help me in this? would be grateful

i installed the rom full wipe then flashed gapps but playstore wont download any apps?i can browse the playstore but the download never starts? why is that?
