Is it my imagination or has the update to Google play services just fixed everything? My nexus 7 seems to be running better than ever!

Install nova launcher My experience after doing a dirty flash using wugfresh's toolkit is that lag was so bad as to make the tablet unusable. I found that the single biggest improvement was to delete Google Now Launcher, disable stock launcher and install Nova launcher. Tablet now runs as...

Did you try a clean flash? I had similar problems after dirty-flashing the update. Once I reinstalled with data-wipe (and applied the patch a few posts up) it made the world of difference. Better than the earlier build and much better screen wake-up response (albeit not perfect). Sent from my...

Still looking good here. Mucked around for a few hours last night (general browsing, youtube, facebook, using the tablet as a remote for an android tv box etc..) and no issues. Tablet remained as responsive as can be expected and no lockups. FWIW I found that it would lock up most while using...

Applied patch - early signs are good. Lag seems to be eliminated and responsiveness improved but observation based on about 15 minutes of testing before work. Will play further and report back. Thanks for your efforts.

I've had similar problems. The tablet will become unresponsive and require a hard shutdown on a regular basis. This did not happen on rc2 or rc3. I initially did a dirty flash and it was performing very badly so I wiped data and reinstalled which improved performance somewhat but it still...

    Post [Q&A]★★★[KitKat 4.4.4][TF300 CROMBi-kk R1][DATA2SD | ROM2SD | F2FS | CM11]★★★

Riiight...I was under the impression that the kernels from the download section in this thread would only work if using ext4. So they are all compatible with ext4 and f2fs, is that correct?

Yeah I used the one from the download tab. This one: GRIMKERN_KitKat_2.6 - F2FS.zip. Was that wrong?

I followed those instructions to the letter and it works perfectly. I also found f2fs much better. The kernel is also very good - working well here. Just a word of caution. I tried flashing a grimlock f2fs kernel (see my earlier posts) and it borked my data partition and caused a boot loop...
