I'm kinda glad I updated before I rooted but now the easy rooy methods no longer work (Oneclick/King). Has anyone had any luck rooting the 2015 model while its on lollipop?

I recently learned of how to make a bootanimation and deleted the old bootanimation.zips but now I just get the vanilla classic Android load despite having bootanimation.zip in the correct directory. I'm assuming I need to have it renamed to the original bootloader, it was bootanimationforeset...

I'm running a rooted 4.4.2 but the app is stubborn and tells me I haven't rooted (despite having removed bloatware and such). Is there no walk around this aside from updating? Muh Asus Memopad7
