It works for me using PA Gapps Modular Full 2014-09-06. Didn't do anything special to set it up. Google search version is 3.6.14.1337013.arm.

Same APN Issues I'd also like advice on this. I have the same issue #1, and I don't even have the Access Point Names menu in Settings->Mobile Networks. Trying a clean install tonight, I'll let you know how it works.
