It turns out to be the slot its self. when you have the card pushed & held all the way in it works just fine. Eventually I'll swap out that failed slot (tape is doing the trick for now) but for now I'm thinking about getting the Note 3.

SD card may have been removed during boot, after that point the SD slot has not been working..My SD micro cards are fine they work well on other computers. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.
