Hey guys, I feel a bit daft asking this, but does this xRecovery mean that you can flash those AOSP 2.2 roms to the NAND of the X10, bypassing the need to run it off the microSD card and getting rid of the stock SE ROM altogether? or will that only be the case when the bootloader is cracked?

I just installed this on my Telstra Wildfire, but it doesn't appear to be rooted? setcpu said it couldn't get root and theres no superuser app installed.
