sorry to say, but there are a couple of files missing.. EG modem NON-HLOS.bin aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn (although looks to be named "boot.img......" also no modem file... I did get error messages but should have still DLed them... Will try again for complete zip.

Sorry, re-read, I can boot to TWRP but cant transfer file? I have checked through TWRP: System, data and cache but can not see it in mycomputer. Is there an "ok" button as its just showing the three checked items in TWRP?

Nope, backed-up all. transfer worked fine and saw it in TWRP menu. Just doesnt boot to system. it does seem to flash a little too quick though...as if not everything is loading. FYI, when I boot back to TWRP, it double vibrates before booting, never experienced that before?

Nope! Obviously I spoke too soon....Im now stuck on "Powered by Android" screen :( 7+ mins now). Now I also fear that after flashing backup I am no longer able to gain access to system on phone so cant transfer files :(

Well F&*K me! I have no idea why the driver link you posted worked and the other 3 I tried didn't (including an "Android.developer" link) but it has! I can now see the files on the phone and have transferred backup. Cleared cache, delvik, system and data and flashing backup now (still...
