Used a number of different methods from various sources, most of them on this forum. Each time a successfully got root on the phone i don't have Wi-Fi ("No Wi-Fi networks available"). I have used the latest twrp for G4, Elemental-G4-3.01 with Magisk-v19.1, SR5-SuperSU-v2.82 and superuser etc...

This is basically the way it's being done when logging in with smart cards via a thin client (Citrix). You tunnel the communication with the devices through the thin client protocol.
