Thread TWRP cannot wipe data cannot unencrypt

So I finally unbricked and booted the stock rom. Now im trying to reroot the thing. When I go to format/unencrypt in TWRP I get ERROR 255 -t 0 /dev/block/mmcblk0p54 Is my data partition permanently corrupted? I know that partition exists inside /data. I've already tried to manually format...

Post [FIRMWARE][GUIDE] Restoring Moto E4 (xt1766) (Qualcomm) SPerry to Stock Factory State

So I definitely was doing something wrong. The RSDLite workaround I was using doesn't work. Turning the flashfile.xml into flashfile.bat is not a viable way of flashing stock rom it turns out. Thank you for all of your help.

Post Moto E4 sperry XT1766 not booting up after a restore via TWRP

You're just all over the place, kudos to your dedication. Basically in trying to fix the bad key/erasing boot loop I flashed twrp and tried to format data/unencrpyt which in turn throws errors which require manually reformatting /data until errors are gone and then formatting/unencrypting again...

Post [FIRMWARE][GUIDE] Restoring Moto E4 (xt1766) (Qualcomm) SPerry to Stock Factory State

I'll give it another go and post my findings, but rsdlite doesn't work under any circumstance, no matter which version, which USB cable, which USB port, or how many times I uninstall and reinstall the drivers. I've been at this for a while lol

I flashed the most recent version I could find. I suppose I could keep looking, but this isn't an uncommon problem, it's popped up in several threads. Some claimed they've fixed it without an explanation and are no longer active, some have just left it at that. I suppose I can keep trying other...

    Thread Problems flashing stock rom

This is all new to me and I've read everything I could find. I successfully rooted my e4 with magisk. Then I wanted to flash the stock rom to get it back to out of the box condition. I had to flash the .bat file because rsdlite will not recognize my phone no matter what I do. It got stuck on a...

bad key erasing boot loop So I tried to flash the stock rom via the rsdlite workaround, i.e. turning the stock rom .xtml into a .bat file as per the OP. Now I'm stuck in a bad key/erasing boot loop. I can boot into TWRP, but that's pretty much it. I can't move files to or from my phone and I'm...
