Hey all I just bought a 2013 Ford Fusion w/ MFT. Is it safe to update MFT or will that decrease the chance of this project working when it comes to be?

I'm currently in South Korea and I think I've seen enough to answer the why question. New tech is really popular here even among older people; they probably sell more smart watches here than in the US so the cost of offering more models in that market just isn't appealing.

I'm looking into using tasker to have the watch pair over wifi when possible and use Bluetooth in all other cases. Does anyone have information on how to do this?

That sounds like a fastboot driver issue go into device manager and see if you have an unrecognized device. I used a tf700t driver for mine.

While I understand the desire for the play store I believe it should not come pre-installed. The Ouya is not a phone or tablet and thus the play store content can hardly be considered compatible. As long as Ouya reframes from deliberately blocking third partys from adding it, we can't reasonably...
