I listen to internet radio through my FireTV on a regular basis, is there some way i can make my rooted AFTV "stay on" when my tv is off? The audio output goes to my home theatre, but i don't need my 7 year old plasma burning-in SiriusXM. :) Obviously not a big deal, just curious. Thanks.

If your just using a "command line" adb and not a gui like adbfire to push the aftv-unlock file to the Fire TV, the unlock file will need to be in the same folder as adb.exe if you just want to cut and paste the code in the instructions.

Provided you're in the CWM recovery, you should be able to put one of rbox's pre-rooted ROMS on a USB drive and install it. You don't need mess around with the "recovery.img" file as you already installed that... which is why you have the CWM recovery.

My FAT32 single partition, 32GB drive acts exactly as your 4GB drive does, through a powered or unpowered hub.

My hope was that at the very least, that I could copy the backup from the USB drive to the internal memory before attempting a restore. Or, that I could use adb to push it to it. I realize both scenarios assume that thr device is at least still functioning in a state that one or the other...

Hi, I have rbox's custom recovery installed and a FAT32 32GB flash drive and wireless keyboard connected through a USB hub. Before I decided to upgrade to the newest pre-rooted ROM I thought I'd make a backup through CWM in case something went wrong. The custom recovery does not see my USB...

I started over as suggested and it worked as it was supposed to this time. I obviously must have missed something or had a typo the last time. Thanks for your help!

i didn't notice to be honest, but i did get a message on the FireTV saying su access had been granted, and then the text in the shell (after i copied and pasted the command from the thread in) looked as if it worked... no errors. And yes, i had named my file the same as the example and had put...

Hi, i installed Rbox's custom recovery earlier. When running the initial coomand from the adb shell i had to run it as su or i received a permission error. After running the reboot recovery command, the device rebooted, displayed the white Amazon logo, and then went to the Amazon update failed...
