Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

Aaaaand I'm back to rooted. Lots of work, but it's done. I tried a few things to restore app backups (Titanium restore from ADB backup, Titanium restore from nandroid backup, Helium, Holo Backup) but nothing worked. In the end I had to set everything up again. It's a good reminder to do regular...

Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

I'm happy that it worked for you! :D Me, not so much. Tried TWRP 3.2.3 with no luck. Did you install Magisk from a fastboot boot of TWRP, or did you permanently install TWRP to recovery and then install Magisk from that?

Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

Re-flashed both slots with flash-all, ensuring that I rebooted after setting the slot.... no dice. Backed up, tried flash-all with -w, was really hoping it wouldn't work.... but it did. Looks like I'll be restoring my TWRP backup, backing up apps with Titanium, flash-all with -w, then restoring...

Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

Here's what I did to get both slots: fastboot --set-active=_a flash-all fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot --set-active=_b flash-all fastboot reboot adb reboot bootloader fastboot boot twrp-3.3.0-0-blueline.img Note the TWRP image is the latest - 3.3.0. I've also tried flashing the...

I'm not sure if it's related to slots or not, actually. I was thinking that it was, but I've now done a flash-all on both slots (one after the other), then tried my TWRP flash of the Magisk installer again. Results? Bootloop. I've also tried flashing Magisk Manager's patched_boot.img to both...

Done. Followed that up with a TWRP flash of Magisk 19.2. Then... bootloop! Arg.

Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

I had a similar thought, but no dice. Tried installing Magisk 19.2, which boot looped just like the latest 19.3. I even went back to 16.7, and though that one didn't boot loop it also didn't show up in the system. Magisk Manager didn't recognize it, anyway. Though I'm loathe to do a full...

Post Stuck in Bootloop when installing Magisk

Having a similar issue here. I was rooted till the latest OTA happened a few days ago. Trying to re-root in several different ways, but all result in boot loop. Methods I've tried: Extracted boot.img from factory image, patched with Magisk Manager, flashed with fastboot Fastboot boot...

Post Remap Bixby manually & using all in one gestures; Bind to flashlight [ROOT]

Thanks for this. Anyone know of a way to get it to work with the screen off? It works with the always-on display, but not if that's disabled and the screen is off. Also, I'll warn everyone else not to do what I did on my first attempt. I used Total Commander to copy generic.kl to a non-root...

Post Samsung Galaxy S8 Root (Snapdragon) | SamPWND

Look at my last comment in this thread. TL;DR: use a 950U firmware.

Post [WORKAROUND][SamPWND] Charge to 100% Snapdragon Root

I can't say. I only just got the phone so I don't have a battery performance benchmark to compare. All I can say is that scripting with Tasker retains my set value for batt_capacity_max after reboot, and that it still only charges to an indicated 80%.

Post [WORKAROUND][SamPWND] Charge to 100% Snapdragon Root

I put this in a Tasker shell command triggered by a boot profile. Seems to work well.

For those asking about (aboot) the Canadian SM-G950W, I have your maple syrup right here. I've been trying a bunch of different stuff all day but I think I've finally found success. If you use a system.img.ext4 from a Canadian carrier's firmware, you'll end up with repeated and constant...

Thread Unbricking usb jigs for $1.60 shipped from DX

I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere (excuse me if it has been)... but Dealextreme is now selling USB unbrick jigs for $1.60 shipped. Reviews seem good. I've been running a stock rom since Gingerbread, but I still might grab one of these just because it's so damn cheap. Expect to wait a while...
