Post Did anyone see this comparison of audio capabilities of the LG V20, Axon 7, and V10??

$400 phone vs $650+. The real bonus to me in audio is the front facing speakers, I'd rather have that than the better dac that the v20 has.

Post Thinking about getting rid of this ..

Have your vision checked.,seriously. The OP3 is 1080p and pentile, meaning the actual ppi is around 330, which is low and visible. Unless you mash your face right up to the axon 7 (uses the s6's amoled) you wont see the pixels.

Just did a very quick test, and turning flash from auto -> forced worked. Was in a dim but not dark setting.

Post WiFi strength, range, and throughput

It's been confirmed already. People have flashed the global rom onto the US model, and it completely fixes the wifi speed.

OP3 also has a 1080p screen, so it's pushing a lot less pixels in games.

Post [INFO] Successfully Flashed A2017G B02 to A2017U

Probably, but it could also be because they didnt want or get FCC approval. I'd gladly sacrifice some battery life for better reception though, as when I have 1 bar of lte or some 4g, it takes several seconds to load a web page, and i'm sure the SoT is suffering due to me just waiting for pages...

    Post [Rumor] Android Nougat

That nougat logo was put on several dozen phones. All it means are those phones will be getting the update, not soon, not launched with, but eventually.

Post Did ZTE underestimate the demand of their Axon 7?

I agree, for $400 (especially + giftcard and headphones) its a great deal. The two major cons of the device are the reception, and camera. Minor quirks with software can be fixed, and the capacitive button locations can be gotten used to. As a device I'd give it a 7.5/10, as a device that costs...

Post [INFO] Successfully Flashed A2017G B02 to A2017U

Thank you. This more or less solves the mystery, now all we have to do is convince zte that they made a mistake on the 2017U software, as it is limited and 2017G isnt.

Post [INFO] Successfully Flashed A2017G B02 to A2017U

Can you try something before you switch back? If you have a good router (ac, multiple streams, 5ghz) can you check your link speed? You can use an app like aida64 to spit that info out in the network tab. The reason I ask, is because 2017U (actual models not software) reports 433Mbps being the...

Post WiFi strength, range, and throughput

Good find, weird that they seemingly chose the better wifi/bt module for the global/eu version but gave the U.S. the worse of the two. Wonder if it was due to issues with the U.S. network bands? Apparently the OP3 also uses the same QCA6164A 433Mbps chip. Next up is to determine where the...

Post US & Global variant comparison

Can you ask them if there is any news about the reception issues that seem to be plaguing the device? On the zte forums there was a poll of so far 40 people, and 50% are saying they are having reception issues, including me. I really like the phone but do not know if I can deal with the...

Post US & Global variant comparison

Nobody has brought this up.. but the G version has a setting called 'signal boost', and aida64 also reports its wifi is maxed at 866Mbps. The U version does not have that setting and aida64 reports it's wifi is gimped to 433Mbps. Please post an aida64 log if you have the G (eu/international)...

Post [Results] LTE Speed test - HTC One M9 vs ZTE Axon 7 (At&t)

While that is true, a bunch of users on this forum and zte forums have done db tests, and the axon 7 (U) is typically worse than other phones. The U (usa) varient also has half the wifi speed that the G (eu/general) model has (see aida64)

Post WiFi strength, range, and throughput

My aida64 is reporting 433 on a US model, with an r8000 router. So I am having the same issue.
