You don't need to ask the developer for a new release. He's already said he intends to keep up with monthly releases, as much as he can. I would imagine you could flash these unofficial builds over last official (dirty), but I would recommend clean flashing just to be safe.

Yes, Magisk works. If you need it for some particular reason (modules, hiding root to pass SafetyNet or run apps such as Pokemon Go or Snapchat), then you should be able to flash it and have it work without any issues.

I had no luck getting the signature spoofing patcher to work with LineageOS 15.1, as it requires a deodexed ROM to work, and LineageOS 15.1 builds seem to come odexed by default now. So you could still install microG, but much functionality would not work properly, if at all.

Have you been using any battery-saving modifications such as AKT, L Speed, Spectrum, or Greenify. If you've been managing this great battery life without any such mods, I'll happily give this ROM another try once the next build is released.
