Yup I was able to keep root by flashing the FLASHABLE zip and then the magisk zip right after. Presumably I can then install TWRP after booting into Android (haven't done it yet). Thanks for the files!!!

Have been using this kernel for more than a week now, and the verdict is: best kernel for LOS15. Perfect deep sleep (less than 0.5% battery per hour) and great performance. Fast charging works too.
