Try this in settings - Language & Input,( i am using kitkat,) In language and input i tap on language(English united states) and i have the option to choose language, It has over 70 language to choose from..

I men't to reply about your xmbc built last week but forget to, Iv'e been using xmbc12.2C build that force close on occasion but your built never FC and your interface is much better than the original, The only problem i see is when playing 720p file it stutter....
