I used Nine which did an email check and calendar sync. I scrapped that. Then I had GPS Toolbox which started up. Got rid of that, too. The new launcher does not use widgets which have to start at least part of the app in the background so I guess Spotify and Pocket Casts don´t get started as well.

Just updated to the December version on a Joying rk3188 MTCB 1024x600 without wiping. Went smoothly. The launcher is KLD (as expected) and the initial boot pic is vanilla lollipop again. Otherwise I have not noticed anything different.

The apk runs fine without any further tweaking. I think that the reason why playstore refuses to install is that the units are not true 5.1.1 systems but some 4.4.4 and 5.1.1 hybrids whereas the 4.4.4 systems are "pure". So there is probably some API mismatch.

Finally upgraded to 5.1.1 After abandoned attempts to convert to 5.1.1. due to speed problems and TT not running I finally switched to the latest DSA Rom via the MCCB MCCC firmwares. This worked well. I am still seeing some speed issues especially shortly after booting but all things considered...

When the GPS mouse has completely lost its position and has to restart from scratch the fix can take a LONG time. If you haven´t done that already, give it an hour and see wether it gets a fix.
