I have Xperia Neo L too, and my experience is = the best rom for gaming is CM 7.2. I try some rom like optimaX (still wifi issue),. Miui v.4 (good but not for gaming and heavy app) Stock Rom is tooooo many bloatware and cause slow speed. Are you try turbo UI, if you say Turbo UI is the best...
