Apex is sweet. I just picked up the nexus 7 and really appreciate this rom. It is beautifully simple (I use tablet mode.) I gave pa a decent go but came back to sgt7, one can always screw with app dpi with any rooted rom anyhow.

I have changed the search key to power (off) using root explorer system/usr/keylayout. Might be worth playing around with.

You can make calls during your mini bath and if the person on the other line asks"are you in the bathroom? " you can tel them you're using cm alpha ROM and it's just an echo bug.
