I flashed Thur adb ATHENE_RETAIL_8.1.0_OPJ28.111-22_cid50 Then flashed twrp and installed Ex kernel and rooted it with Magisk. Didn't have fingerprint at that point, PC showed it as a G4 . Flashed a fsg & hw img from stock rom 6.0, using terminal and dd commands. It now shows G4 Plus.

Made plans before I Tried this, I am in no rush for a blank flash, devs will come up with one given time and a release of necessary files from Moto. I knew the risks! Have more phones. The xda deveropers are world-class at going beyond the vendors.

You do not know the reason I was trying to downgrade. I had 8.1 installed but it stopped the fingerprint from working so I tried a fix that didn't work at my own risk, and I can read. Its only a phone.
