    Changing the BT codec in developer option doesn't stick and defaults back to AAC when your headphone reconnects, which is super annoying (ie everytime I get a drink or go to the bathroom).     A bit late to the party but you can add _NOAAC to the end of your Bluetooth device name and it will skip AAC codec and use the next best option, in my case AptX. ie "Lagoon ANC" becomes "Lagoon ANC_NOAAC". It didn't work when I first got my phone but since the JAN 2020 update it started working...
